The level of fun we had on this job proves that you’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do. Here’s why we had such a blast: This autumnal Dutch masters-esque wedding at Weekapaug Inn invited us to go allll out. So we delivered epic flower and moss installs as well as fruit (and vegetable!) centerpiece arrangements. And next to all that decadent drapery—hanging luxuriously about the tent, laid out over surfaces—the end result looked straight out of a 17th-century painting.
Being transparent, that specialty lucite chuppah gave the florals built onto it the coolest levitating effect. We decked it out with smilax vines, dangling amaranthus strands, and local grasses galore. Then we added a treasure trove of fall-hued flowers—special shoutout to all those vibrant mums and lilies. The way the fiery colors burnished bright before that achingly green backdrop…too good.

First of all, they amount to one of our favorite trends. Second, this occasion’s gorgeous bride, Lacy, happens to be a nutritionist—so she had to get her fruits and veggies in. (So cute.) We had it all spilling from vintage silver compotes. We worked in plenty of grapes and pears, because a) ’twas the season, and b) nothing says Dutch masters like grapes and pears. And of course we couldn’t get enough of the artichokes, or the unique texture they brought to the table.
Ever imagine dancing through your wedding reception beneath a trio of “overgrown” hanging candelabras? Neither have we, which is why we were so delighted to craft this unique request. Lacy and Evan asked for “modern bog” vibes here, so you better believe we doubled down on the vines, amaranthus, and grasses. Then we added multiple varieties of moss because…obviously. Was it southern Rhode Island or the Castle in the Sky—who could be sure?
The planners at Gathered East went all out on specialty rentals. So many great pieces, from the arching statement shelves to the long serpentine table—plus, yes, the chuppah, drapes, and pretty lights—were brought in by amazing vendors. And no, of course we’d never leave you hanging; we’ve linked you to everyone below!
